New Online Course Development Request Form

New Online Course Development Request Form

The 2025 Strategic Plan for Online Education outlines goals for improving the overall quality of online courses.

Effective 2019, all new online courses must be designed to align with the quality assurance framework mandated by the State of Florida. Instructors that are interested in submitting an application for the online development incentive must ensure the course is being offered online for the FIRST time and meets one of the two criteria listed below:

1. Course is part of an existing or upcoming fully online degree program, certificate and/or minor within SIPA
or
2. If course is not part of a fully online degree program, certificate or minor and the demand is such that it will be offered online multiple times per academic year to increase accessibility to a large population of students.

*Please note, Graduate students are not eligible to apply for online development incentives unless a petition was approved by UGS (please contact UGS or Cheryl Johnson for further instructions).

The online development incentive will be issued at the end of the semester that the course is offered online.

The incentive amount awarded is based on the course credits:
• 1 credit: $500
• 2 credits: $1000
• 3 or more credits: $1500

Note:
Courses that require minimal content development do not meet eligibility (e.g., internship, directed individual study, supervised research, graduate thesis, etc.).
